How does it work?
We've made an app specifically for Samsung TVs, and it's available on Samsung Apps. We recommend installing the Plecto app on your Samsung TVs as it should work better than other TV browsers.
Samsung limitation
A known issue is that Samsung TVs are not capable of rendering dashboards well enough, nor can they show some types of notifications like, for example, YouTube videos. It's all because the browser rendering is too slow. If you have an LG TV, we recommend to use that instead.
How to install Plecto on Samsung TV
To install the Plecto TV app on your Samsung TV, you need to have a Samsung account and be signed in on your TV. The minimum version of the Tizen operating system required for the app to run on your Samsung TV is 2.3.
Your Samsung account
If you don't have a Samsung account or have not signed in on your TV, the TV will ask you to sign in to continue installing Plecto. Go to this Samsung support page to learn how to set up your smart TV.
Here's how to install Plecto on Samsung TV
- Press the home button on your TV remote and go to Apps.
- Click on the search icon in the upper-right corner, then type and search for Plecto. Alternatively, you can find the Plecto app in the Lifestyle category in Samsung Apps.
- Click Install, then Open to open the Plecto app.
You will now see Plecto's TV page. To see your slideshows, you need to activate the TV from your computer or the mobile app. Go straight to the Activate TV page in Plecto or read our help article for more information. Once you activate the TV, it will display your slideshows with increased performance compared to viewing them on the built-in browser on your TV.
