Play YouTube Videos on Slideshows
Learn how to add YouTube videos to your slideshows in Plecto.

You can easily add videos from YouTube as part of your Plecto slideshows. A slideshow can include dashboards, contests, YouTube videos, and other media that will automatically rotate on your TV screen.
Copy the video URL
To add a YouTube video to a slideshow, do the following:
- Go to YouTube and open the video you want to add to the slideshow.
- Copy the URL of the YouTube video. You can copy the URL link from the URL field at the top of your browser or click the Share button below the YouTube video, then Copy.
- Go to Visualization > Slideshows and create a new or click on an existing slideshow.
- Click the + Add YouTube slide button.
- Paste the video URL in your Plecto slide.
- (Optional) Add custom length in seconds to let Plecto know how long it should play the video before moving to the next slide.
- Click Save.
Tip – Preview your slideshows
Preview the slideshow after you save it! Click on Preview button in the top-right corner.
Copy the embedded URL
Alternatively, you can use the embedded URL from your YouTube video and add it to the slide in Plecto:
- Go to YouTube and open the video you want to add to the slideshow.
- Click the Share button below the video, then Embed. You will now see the complete embedded URL.
- Select and copy the embedded URL. The URL should look similar to the following:
https://www.youtube.com/embed/laUmKHp0ubI
- Now go to Visualization > Slideshows and create a new one or click on an existing slideshow.
- Click the + Add YouTube slide button.
- Paste the embedded video URL in your Plecto slide.
- (Optional) Add custom length in seconds to let Plecto know how long it should play the video before moving to the next slide.
- Click Save.
