Step 1: Create or update your notification
Go to Gamification > Notifications and create new or open an existing notification. Set up the notification trigger if you're creating a new notification.
Scroll to the bottom of the page and select Send notification to Slack.
Add your credentials. If no credentials are available, create new by clicking the + button.
Enter the channel name in the field Room. Don't use the hash (#).
(Optional) Add custom text to your Slack message.
Click Save in the bottom-right corner to finish.
Step 2: Invite Plecto to your Slack channel
Open Slack and invite Plecto to a channel. To invite, type @plecto in the message field and select Plecto [APP]. Send the message to the channel.
Click Add to Channel.
How to add Slack credentials
Click on the + button on the right of the credentials field. A new window will open.
Plecto will ask you to connect it to your Slack account. To continue, click Next.
If you are logged into your Slack account, Plecto will ask for permission to access your workspace. To grant permission, click on the Allow button.
After authorizing Plecto to access your Slack workspace, the website will redirect you back to the notification editor, where you will see your Slack credentials.
How to send a GIF in Slack
Send a GIF to your channels in Slack whenever a notification triggers in Plecto. All you have to do is find a URL to a GIF and add it in the notification action's text box. For example, go to Giphy, find a GIF that you like, and copy the link to it.
